10120. The Arizona Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory, July 11th, 1868, Unwarrented Attack.
The Arizona Miner
Prescott, Arizona Territory
July 11th, 1868
UNWARRENTED ATTACK .
Thursday night two soldiers from Camp
called at the saloon of
McPherson ,
in this town ,
Jackson & Co. ,
abused
the bar—keeper , Jos. Todd, and for so
doing were ejected from the premises
by Mr. Jackson. They then went to their
camp, got their arms, returned to the
saloon and attempted to shoot Mr. Todd .
They were then and there disarmed by
Deputy Sheriff Brooks ,
and marched to
the calaboose, where they were confined
during the night.
They were set at
liberty next morning, and are by this
time on their winding way to McPherson.
Whisky, and a grudge which they seemed
to have against Mr. Todd, caused them
to act so, we suppose.
