INDIAN OUTRAGES IN ARIZONA.
The Arizona Prescott Miner of June 7th
mentions numerous instances where white
men had been killed, in the neighbor—
hood of Prescott , by hostile Indians ,
and adds ,
as to the scene of the
murders :
This piece of road from Prescott to Date
Creek, for the last two months, has been
replete with danger, and is all owing to
the
non—arrival of the California
troops ,
reported to have been under
order for Arizona since January. It
gives us pleasure to announce, however ,
that General Mason ,
immediately upon
hearing Of the state of affairs , has
stationed Company E, of the Fourth
California Infantry, at Colonel Dobbins
ranch, with orders to scout the country
in every direction and to afford pro—
tection to travelers over the road- The
commanding officer at Fort Whipple also
has put a small detachment in Skull
Valley for the protection of the ran—
chers there, and Lieutenant Barr is now
out upon a well arranged scout. Prior to
this every ranch had been deserted, but
now the farmers are going back to their
land with renewed energy.
