BY TELEGRAPH TO THE UNION
MURDER NEAR LA PAZ.
"Three deserters from the Native American
Cavalry visited a place about eight miles
from here, on the road to Prescott, where
two men were digging a well, and had what
they wanted to eat and drink. After one
of the men went down the well they shot
and he fell into the well
the other
dead , his body going to the bottom ;
eighty feet. They then took what they
wanted and left. Mail—carrier Duff found
the other man in the well alive, and 'took
him out One of the murderers came to
La Paz last night, and we have got him
chained to a black—smith ' s anvil, having
no jail to conf ine him in. "
