Local Intelligence.
INDIAN RUMORS.- Constable Leonard rep
orts having seen some half dozen
Indians near the Agua Fria last week,
which Mr.. Swilling thinks are a few that
have been wandering harmlessly about
that country for months. A man named
Thompson, who has lately arrived from
California, told us of seeing one and
hearing two others hollow, on the Santa
Maria, and near by came upon the remains
of an ox or cow that had recently been
butchered and eaten by them. On his
arrival at Gilson’s place, on Date
Creek, Mr. Gilson informed him that
there were some ten Indians in that
locality where they had been for somet
ime and they were not dangerous.
