Arizona Citizen
Tucson, Puma County, A.T.
Saturday, June 29th, 1872
We learn from Governor Bashford and Major
Brown that Adam Reisback, who was shot by
the Apaches a few days ago at the Burnt
Ranch, has since died. Joseph Goldwater,
shot by the Apaches at Mint Valley, is in
the hospital at Date Creek. It is not yet
known whether his wound will prove fatal
or not. The Apaches had again attempted
to take the herd of sheep belonging to
Bashford & Stevens- they run the herder
three miles, but he succeeded in reaching
the post with slight wounds in time to
get assistance to save the herd. General
Crook, is using every available man to
the best possible advantage in order to
give protection to the people.
