Sacramento Daily Union Sacramento, California Tuesday Morning, March 27th, 1866 BY TELEGRAPH TO THE UNION MURDER NEAR LA PAZ. "Three deserters from the Native American Cavalry visited a place about eight miles from here, on the road to Prescott, where two men were digging a well, and had what they wanted to eat and drink. After one of the men went down the well they shot and he fell into the well the other dead , his body going to the bottom ; eighty feet. They then took what they wanted and left. Mail—carrier Duff found the other man in the well alive, and 'took him out One of the murderers came to La Paz last night, and we have got him chained to a black—smith ' s anvil, having no jail to conf ine him in. "
