INDIAN FIGHT.
Early last month, Apaches said to number
about 50, made an attack upon certain
persons in charge of the buildings at
the Mowry mine Ned Marcy was instantly
killed- ROM. Doss was wounded, and Hon .
Oscar Buckalew, of the last Legislature ,
who happened to reach the mine during
the fight, was shot in the knee, and
refusing amputation of the leg, will, it
is reported, be likely to lose his life.
The Indians would , in all probability ,
have destroyed the whole party and
burned the buildings, but for the timely
approach of Lt. Hutton and a friend, who
finding them so strong , went to Santa
Cruz and raised a party , upon the
approach of which the savages left
The wounded men and all moveable prop—
erty of the mine have been taken to
Santa Cruz
