Hd I grs. Camp McPherson, A. T. March 1st, 1868 Bvt. Maj. J Mahnken A. A-A. Gen. Sub Dist. of Prescott Camp Whipple, A. T. Sir: I have the honor to report that during the month of February 1868, the troops stationed at this Post were employed in escort— ing mails and trains passing this Post, and in building Store House and Hospital etc. On the 15th ultimo the Garrison was reduced by the departure of Capt. Weir and 2nd Lieut. James A. Buchanan 14th Infantry and "H" 14th Infantry who are thirty five ( 35) enlisted men Co. ordered to establish a temporary camp at Corner Rock Indian Reservation— on the Colorado river No Indian outrages have occurred in the vicinity of this Post nor have Very Your Geo .
