20009. Arizona Citizen, Tucson, Pima County, A.T., Saturday, January 7th, 1871. (article)

Arizona Citizen Tucson, Pima County, A..T. Saturday, January 7th, 1871 Wickenburg stage arrived early this morning, bringing mails from Prescott, Special Mail Agent I.N. Dawley, and James Grant, contractor on that route. Mr. Dawley obtained an escort of four men at Date Creek to McDowell, and the same number from there to Tucson. Mr. Grant comes over the route to put it in operation under his contract of Jan. 1st, 1871, and has now two doubles eated buckboards and corresponding stock. He intends to add to it in other respects. The Pimas reported to Mr. Bichard that 200 Apaches had recently crossed south near their reserve. If true, it is a significant move.
