The Arizona Miner
Prescott, Arizona Territory
October 25th, 1873
Mr. Geo. H. Kimball of Camp Date Creek,
who is now at Fort Whipple, informs us
that he will soon have 3,000 head of
sheep and some cattle on Date Creek. He
says wool can be carried from Date Creek
to San Francisco for less per pound than
from Southern California, which fact,
when added to another- that Arizona wool
is much better and cleaner than
California wool— makes a strong case in
favor of sheep farming here.
