The Arizona Miner
Prescott, Arizona Territory
April 27th, 1872
LOCAL ITEMS.
Will be Escorted.
Thanks to General Crook,— the “buckb
oard,” which takes away and brings the
heaviest portion of the military and
citizen mail, to this section of the
Territory, will hereafter be guarded in
its passage over the most dangerous part
of the road between Prescott and Date
Creek, by two or three mounted soldiers,
so that it will be less liable to attack
from Indians. Three soldiers, we
believe, started out with the buckboard
on last Wednesday morning.
